Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi issued a presidential decree appointing 17 new governors on Sunday, reported the state-owned news agency.
The governorate changes included Alexandria, Port Said, Ismailia, Matrouh, Fayoum, Red Sea, Qena, Luxor and Aswan, according to the Middle East News Agency.
Alexandria's new governor is Tarek Mahdi Abdel Tawab, Ismail Hassan Attia is the governor of Aswan, Sameh Mohamed Ahmed Kandil assumed the governor's post in Port Said and Mohamed Maher Zaher has been appointed in the Red Sea governorate.
