SINAI, March 30 (Aswat Masriya) The Egyptian authorities arrested on Sunday two policemen in Northern Sinai's Arish for contacting "militants" to inform them of the security personnel's location, a security source told Aswat Masriya.
"Investigation revealed that these two policemen were in contact with militants," the security source said.
He added that the detained policemen are now subject to intensive investigation in order to identify the extent of their relationship with the "jihadists".
Militants stepped up attacks targeting Egypt's army and police since the military’s ouster of President Mohamed Mursi last July following mass protests against his rule.
At least 175 security personnel and 200 militants were killed in these attacks.
