The Supreme Presidential Elections Commission (SPEC) has information and documented accusations that seven presidential candidates received funding from abroad, Judge Hatem Bagato, Secretary General of the commission, told al-Shorouk newspaper on Thursday.
There is no available information on how these funds were spent, he added.
Bagato will write a report on the electoral process and will call for permanent election commission body with branches in all governorates, al-Shorouk newspaper quoted Bagato on Thursday.
This commission should include prominent judges and public figures known for their objectivity and honesty, he added.
The electoral process cost around 300 million Egyptian pounds, Bagato stated.
He denounced how some political powers and presidential candidates questioned the work of the elections commission.
