Consultations are underway between a number of political parties to contest the next parliamentary elections with a unified list, Abdel Moneim al-Sawy, head of the media and culture committee of the dissolved parliament, stated.

Al-Sawy told Aswat Masriya that he does not mind “making an alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood again” especially since their alliance in the dissolved parliament was based on mutual respect.

“Whether the coming parliamentary elections will include all seats or one third of the seats only, electoral alliances remain a vital part of the coming phase to confront remnants of the former regime,” al-Sawy added.

The MP stressed that a consensus on these alliances should be reached and all parties should commit to the agreement.
