CAIRO, Jan 28 (Aswat Masriya) - A Cairo misdemeanour court sentenced on Wednesday 20 members of Zamalek Sporting Club's Ultras fan group to three years in prison and a five-thousand Egyptian pound bail for rioting and vandalism.

The 20 defendants were accused of taking part in clashes with security forces at the Cairo International Stadium last March.

Tensions often arise between Ultras groups and security forces securing games.

The Egyptian Premier League games have been held in the absence of any fans since over 70 football fans were killed in the Port Said Stadium following a game in February 2012 and until last December, when the Egyptian Football Association allowed a limited number of fans to attend the games.
