Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri has delivered the resignation of his cabinet to the ruling military council, Al-Jazeera reported.

A security source had said yesterday that the Ganzouri cabinet is expected to be reappointed to pursue work until President Mohamed Mursi forms a new government.

On Sunday, the Presidential Elections Committee declared the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mursi Egypt’s first democratically-elected president, ending a transition period ruled by a group of army generals.
