The Israeli military has used video footage of Upper Egypt’s Beni Suef in one of its official video, labelling it instead as footage of Gaza, reported Egyptian local news website Walad El-Balad.

The website reported that the military took parts of a video news report it filmed in Beni Suef city in July about the reaction of Egyptians to the Israeli attack on Gaza, and posted those clips as if they were filmed in Gaza in a video about Palestinian groups Hamas and Al-Qassam Brigades.

The original four-minute video was uploaded onto Walad El-Balad’s official YouTube channel on 14 July under the title "the Street’s Anger in Beni Suef over Gaza's Shelling and its Hopes to Solve the Crisis.” In the video, Egyptians can be seen giving their opinions on the issue.

The Israeli military’s video, published on its official Arabic YouTube page on 10 August under the title "What Happens Behind Public Buildings in Gaza?" claiming that Palestinian factions were hiding missiles and weapons in public buildings like hospitals and schools.

From 2:15 to 2:21 of the Israeli video, the streets of Beni Suef filmed by Walad El-Balad are used to substitute for the streets of Gaza.
