Egypt’s health ministry said on Sunday that the total number of those who were injured in nationwide demonstrations over the weekend has reached 113 while one man was killed.
Thousands of protesters gathered on Friday in Tahrir Square and in front of the presidential palace in Heliopolis to press on their revolutionary demands.
Eighty-eight people were injured in clashes that erupted by the presidential palace, said health ministry spokesman Ahmed Amr, adding that 11 were injured in Tahrir clashes, 13 in Kafr al-Sheikh and just one in Port Said.
The injured were transferred to local hospitals for medical attention, Amr added as reported by the Middle East News Agency.
