CAIRO, May 9 (Aswat Masriya) - Bomb squads successfully diffused two bombs in Cairo's Gesr al-Suez area and underneath Ahmed Orabi Bridge on Friday, Egypt's Interior Ministry said.

Security bodies arrested 22 pro-Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators with shotguns, ammunition, and petrol bombs in their possession in Cairo, Alexandria, Giza and Fayoum, the ministry said in a statement.

"Security forces will stand up to everything that disrupts the country's security and stability," the ministry's statement said.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has called on its supporters to stage week-long demonstrations starting Friday to voice their rejection for ex-Defence Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's presidential bid.
