CAIRO, Sept 19 (Aswat Masriya) - The security forces arrested five of the 15 fugitive prisoners who escaped earlier on Friday, Gharbia Security Director Osama Bedeir said.

The prisoners escaped from a police station in Gharbia, 90 km north of Cairo, on Friday morning.

"The prisoners managed to escape when the guards opened their cell to take out the waste. One of the inmates threw hot water on the faces of the guards and fled amid the general state of agitation," a security source said.

The security forces are currently combing the area in search for the rest of the escapees.

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim ordered the suspension of two police personnel and an informant and that they be referred to investigation for allowing the escape.
