The Ministry of Justice’s Illicit Gains Authority will refer ousted president Hosni Mubarak and his family to a criminal court after it receives reports on their fortunes, Assem Al-Gohary, assistant Minister of Justice and head of the authority, said.

The authority awaits the reports determining how much money Mubarak, his wife, Suzanne, and his sons, Gamal and Alaa, gained illegally in order to refer them to court on charges of graft.

If the authority decided to refer Mubarak or any other person to court on graft charges, it will ask the court to apply the law which states that each defendant is sentenced to prison for 15 years, has to pay back all that he has illegally gained and pay an equal sum as a fine, Al-Gohary told the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
