CAIRO, Jul 23 (Aswat Masriya) - Eleven bodies of passengers from the capsized Nile river ferry were recovered on Friday, raising the death toll to 29, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

Wednesday's accident occurred when "a barge collided" with the ferryboat in Giza, "shattering" the latter, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on its official Facebook page.

The ministry attributed the accident to captain of the barge, who was arrested alongside his assistant.

In March, a private company bus carrying workers fell off the ring road and into a canal branching from the Nile river, leaving a dozen dead.
