Former member of the dissolved parliament and founder of the Freedom Egypt Party Amr Hamzawy accused the Muslim Brotherhood of looking down on other political forces and mixing religion with politics.

"The conclusion of the conversation with Mahmoud Ghozlan (MB spokesman): defending a constituent assembly that lacks national dialogue is belittling other political forces...", Hamzawy posted on Twitter, comparing the Brotherhood's attitude with Mubarak's famous phrase "let them have fun" (said when protests broke out to topple him).

An argument broke out between the spokesman and the liberal ex-MP on Wednesday on a satellite channel over the constituent assembly, tasked with rewriting the constitution.

"Everything you are saying is incorrect, you just talk and talk and discussions with you never have positive impacts," Ghozlan had said on TV to Hamzawy and George Ishaq before hanging up.

Disappointed with the attitude of the Islamist group's spokesman, Hamzawy said to him, "unfortunately, you do not believe in democracy or know anything about it".

On Twitter, the liberal MP complained, "Reducing democracy to ballot boxes and constantly preparing to manipulate electoral regulations by mixing religion with politics... and taking away from rights and freedoms through scaring people off from freedom claiming it hurts their Islam".
