Muslim Brotherhood leader Hassan al-Brens said that the concept of separating religion and politics has expired, after the Dostour Party, founded by Nobel Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei, distributed greeting flyers at prayer spots during Eid (Islamic feast).

Al-Brens described the liberal party's distribution of flyers as an official acknowledgment of the legitimacy of intertwining religion and politics.

Al-Brens welcomed the political activity of ElBaradei's party, but insisted that liberal forces must now accept that separating religion from politics is no longer valid.
