Two children were killed and another injured early Sunday in an explosion reportedly caused by a munition remnant from World War II in a village in New Valley governorate.

According to initial reports, the remnant was detonated at a house in Sanaa village early Sunday.

The explosion resulted in the death of 10-year-old Ahmed Ahmed and six-year-old Ahmed Adly, both from Sanaa village. Another child, four-year-old Mohamed Mahmoud, was injured.
