Egypt's state-owned channel Nile News aired on Saturday that the presidency is considering amending the date of the parliamentary elections because it conflicts with the Coptic holidays.

President Mohamed Mursi announced on Friday that the elections would be held on April 27.

A number of political forces have criticized setting a date for elections during political and economic crises.
