Hussein Mohamed Ibrahim was elected as the secretary general of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party on Thursday.

Ibrahim who was head of the parliamentary majority at the dissolved People’s Assembly won with 39 votes while his rival Helmi al-Gazzar got 21 votes.
