The president's office asked Egypt's prosecution on Monday to swiftly reveal its investigation results of the recent events that the country has witnessed and refer those responsible for the deaths of Gaber Salah and Islam Masoud to justice.

Gaber, who was a member of the April 6 movement, was killed in scuffles with police in Tahrir Square last week while Masoud, who was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, was killed on Sunday in confrontations near the Brotherhood's Damanhour headquarters.

In a statement on Monday, President Mohamed Mursi's office expressed remorse for the deaths of both Gaber and Masoud, insisting that those responsible will be prosecuted, reported the Middle East News Agency.

The statement called on all parties to exercise self-restraint and keep their means of expression peaceful.
