Shura Council elections begin

Polling stations have started receiving voters Sunday 8am on the first day of the Shura Council (upper house) elections.

Elections are taking place in 13 governorates; Cairo, Alexandria, Asyut, Daqahliya, Gharbiya, Fayoum, Menufeya, Qena, Demietta, New Valley, Al-Bahr Al-Ahmar and North and South Sinai.

Polling stations will be open Sunday and Monday whereas the re-runs are expected to take place on February 7.
