CAIRO, Mar 1 (Aswat Masriya) - The Ministry of Social Solidarity decided on Sunday to dissolve 112 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for "ties with the Muslim Brotherhood."

In a statement, the ministry said the NGOs were founded in 2011 and 2012 and are located in six governorates across the nation.

The ministry said the NGOs that are being dissolved have no headquarters and have not carried any activity in a "while". 

Last week, the ministry dissolved 169 NGOs in nine governorates across Egypt, also for their "ties with the Muslim Brotherhood."       

The ministry says these NGOs are being dissolved based on the decision by an urgent matters court in September 2013, which banned the Brotherhood. 

A committee was formed after the ruling was issued to manage Brotherhood funds. The ruling stipulates banning the activities of any association that is branched from the Brotherhood, that was founded by Brotherhood funds or that receives any form of support from the Brotherhood.

Egypt listed the Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation in December 2013 and insists it is behind the wave of militancy which has targeted security personnel since July 2013. The Brotherhood continuously denies the accusations.
