Nobel Laureate and opposition figure Mohamed ElBaradei mourned the recent Egyptian victims on Monday on his Twitter account.

“Youth still tortured and killed in quest for human dignity. Regime oblivious that violence begets violence and brutality is sure to backfire,” the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency said.

Two men were announced dead on Monday morning, raising the death toll in a wave of violence that erupted in light of demonstrations to commemorate the 2011 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak.

Attorney of Mohamed al-Gendy, who was announced dead this morning, said the 28-year-old was “tortured to death” during his 3-day abduction while an activist was killed in Friday demonstrations by the presidential palace.
